Metal roof
repainting project
A weathered metal roof was pressure-cleaned, primed and spray-painted with a light-coloured roof membrane. The work included careful masking around skylights and equipment, plus access planning for the steep roof sections.
From a dirty metal roof to a prepared surface
The existing metal roof was dirty and needed pressure cleaning before the coating work. The owner wanted a light finish, with limiting heat absorption as a priority. The photographs show the change from the grey surface to the light-coloured finished roof.
Cleaning included the steeper sections, using roof ladders for access. The before and preparation photographs show the roof shape, skylights and equipment that had to be considered throughout the job.
Masking, access and priming
Glazing, flashings and rooftop equipment were masked or covered where they were not to be painted. This preparation was particularly important around the skylights and air-conditioning unit.
The work used roof ladders, harnesses, ropes and anchorage points, with a second team member assisting. A roof primer was applied to the prepared surface before the membrane finish.
Applying the light-coloured roof membrane
The membrane was applied by spray. Spray pressure was reduced to help control overspray around neighbouring properties, while the steeper areas were worked from the roof ladders.
The finished photographs show the light coating across the main and steep roof sections. Access equipment was still present in some of the completion photographs. The images document the coating work and finished appearance.
